Floriana-Vittoriosa 2-1

Floriana registered their first victory this season beating Vittoriosa Stars by the odd goal in three.

Thanks to the win the Greens have reduced their points deficit to minus 2 and can now look forward with more optimism towards moving up the tabl;e in the not so distant future.

But it was a difficult match as they had to wait till the final moments to score the goals that mattered.

Quite surprisingly they left Daniel Bogdanovic and Igor Coronado on the bench at the start, and it was only when they played in the second half that the Greens created more scoring opportunities, eventually winning the match against an inferior Stars side.

The Greens were the better side throughout and also hit the posts through Brooke Farrugia and Clyde Borg.

It was Bogdanovic who scored the opening goal on the 87th minute and Steve Pisani anticipated the Stars goalie Sean Cini to score a second three minutes later.

The Stars reduced the arrears in the 93rd minute through Oscar Dario Guerrero.
