Donna Borg Leyland, a 20-year old model from Balzan is among models from 140 countries who will participate in the final of the Miss World contest being held in Bali, Indonesia, on Saturday night.
Donna has been in Indonesia for the last four weeks, and she has told the organizers of Miss World Malta (and local license holders) that she is enjoying the best days of her life. “The dream has become a reality. I am very happy,” she said.
“In the last few weeks we visited a variety of iconic locations and pristine beaches, awe-inspiring temples and areas of outstanding natural beauty,” she added.
This year the 63rd contest is hosting a record-breaking amount of contestants, according to the contest’s president Julia Morley. The pageant is expected to be watched by 2.5 billion viewers and will be aired on more than 165 TV stations.
The event will be hosted by Myleen Klass, after her stunning performance at the Miss World event in 2012. She will be joined on stage by Kamal Ibrahim (Mr World 2010) who is developing into a fine television presenter.
International star singers Blue will be showcasing their brand new single, pop sensation Matt Cardle will also perform, and a spectacular Indonesian opening ceremony is set to leave viewers and the audience breathless. Add to this a list of special guests and cameo appearances throughout the live broadcast and Miss World 2013 is surely set to be a truly epic show. Good luck Donna!
