Nexia BT is hosting the Nexia International European, Middle East and African (EMEA) Tax Meeting in Malta. The main conference will be held on 4 October at the Hilton in St Julian’s.

Around 65 attendees from all over the EMEA region will participate in this conference and the main topics of discussion will include:

·         A review of the recent report by the OECD on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS);

Local bank secrecy versus international tax disclosure requirements; and

Other updates from various countries and relevant European Court of Justice (ECJ) cases.

The Hon Finance Minister, Prof Edward Scicluna, accepted NEXIA BT’s invitation to address the audience at the opening of the conference. He will give a welcome speech to those present, along with NEXIA BT partner Karl Cini, and Kurt De Haen from VMB Tax Consultants and chairman of the EMEA Tax Group of NEXIA International.    

Today all delegates will also be treated to a traditional dinner at IL-Mithna Restaurant in Mellieha.
