Already main sponsors of the Maltese National Rugby team the Bortex group have gone one step further via their “Gagliardi” brand. Not satisfied with kitting out the squad in smart business suits for formal occasions, the Gagliardi designers have developed a capsule range of more casual garments sporting both the Malta Rugby Football Union’s logo as well as the Gagliardi crest.
This type of range – a first for the Gagliardi brand is also the first casual range ever produced specifically for a Maltese sports team. The garments which will be sold locally but also via Gagliardi’s own international networks and will generate badly needed royalty income for the MRFU. The range was launched during an informal presentation during which Gagliardi brand manager Sam Borg presented the collection to Malta rugby president Brian Dalton.
“We are all very proud to associate Gagliardi with such a successful team”, said Borg, “a team which is very close to many people’s hearts due to its gallant performances on the field; often against sides from much larger nations, and particularly in this context we feel that the use of the George Cross which is incorporated into the design of the garments is particularly relevant”. MRFU president Brian Dalton added: “Maltese rugby has time and again given the nation a team to be proud of, and we are grateful to Gagliardi for their support and for creating this special range which Maltese rugby fans can wear with pride”.
The range includes a total of six different pieces, two of which are short sleeved polo’s, a zip thru fleece top, two retro styled rugby jerseys and a fashionable cotton jersey tee shirt.
The limited edition collection will be available from all Bortex stores in Malta, Gagliardi concessions overseas, online on www.gagliardi.eu, and from Style Junkie at the MIA. The range will also be on sale from stalls at the next Malta Rugby international vs Croatia on Saturday 9th November.
