Italy's Olympic teams will continue to be dressed by Giorgio Armani until 2016.

The Italian Olympic Committee on Wednesday said its deal with the Italian designer has been extended for the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi and the 2016 Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Armani says "Italy is built on the country's passion for sport and sport promotes positive values and brings people together" and adds "I am extremely pleased to renew my collaboration with CONI."

The Italian fashion house will provide uniforms and formal clothes for Italy's Olympic and Paralympic teams for the next two Games, and will also outfit the youth teams over the next three years.

Armani supplied a 50-piece kit for each athlete at the London Olympics last summer.
