Not too long ago there was no social media around and it was only after technology, or more precisely, Information Technology developed and became so accessible, that social media boomed.

Social Media and Technology have changed people's interactions, the way services are advertised and lives in general. Despite the benefits, there are many effects that stem from internet usage.

The benefits of participating in social media have gone beyond simply sharing to building a reputation and bringing in career opportunities and monetary income. Yet, all public posts on Facebook and other social media are fully searchable and many warn prospective employees and students their posts count more than what's on their CV.
