For the second consecutive year, NESCAFÈ Dolce Gusto will be sponsoring the Malta Golf Association (MGA) Shield. The competition, one of the highlights of the Malta’s golfing calendar of events, will take place this month at the Royal Malta Golf Club (RMGC).

The NESCAFÈ Dolce Gusto MGA Shield is open for RMGC members holding a valid golf handicap. The tournament will be based on a two day aggregate medal stroke-play.

The ladies’ tournament will be held on November 7th and the men’s event will take place on November 9th.  The final day of the Shield will be played on Sunday 10th November.

NESCAFÈ Dolce Gusto hosted a cocktail party at the Royal Malta Golf Club to commemorate the 7th Edition of the Malta Golf Association Shield. This event gave Nestlé Malta Corporate clients, RMGC members as well as journalists who attended, the opportunity to explore the facilities of the Royal Malta Golf Club and the grounds of the Marsa Sports Club.

William Beck, the MGA president said: “The NESCAFÈ Dolce Gusto MGA Shield has become a permanent fixture in the golf calendar and always attracts a good turnout. On behalf of the MGA Executive Council I thank our sponsors NESCAFÈ Dolce Gusto for their help in ensuring a successful competition.”

Beck said participants with the overall best net aggregate scores will receive prizes from the sponsors and a memento trophy. An additional nine consolation prizes will be awarded.

Naum Janakiev, Country Manager of Nestlé Malta, expressed his satisfaction at their involvement in the Shield tournament. “Golf blends nicely with our brand concept as the sport is an immensely social game,” he said.

“This sponsorship is a great source of satisfaction for us, at Nestlé Malta, and represents another successful stage in which our partnership with MGA will contribute towards the promotion and development of golf in Malta,” he added.

The 7th edition of the Malta Golf Association Shield sponsored by NESCAFÈ DOLCE GUSTO was won by Ray Mounford with an aggregate score of 132 one ahead of Margaret Nelson.
