(www.mothercare.ua). The solution provides customisation to local requirements, fully managed hosting and proactive 24/7 support. The Ukraine webshop is the first to go live as part of the global roll-out of Mothercare International’s eCommerce strategy to its franchisees across the world.
The live Ukraine site showcaseslocalised features for language, currency, checkout and shipping methods. Via integration into Mothercare Ukraine's loyalty system, the franchisee’s customers receive a seamless loyalty experience, no matter whether they shop – online or offline.Other key highlights include enhanced promotions, various merchandising features, rich product pages, social media integration, as well as extensive customer segmentation options. The Ukraine solution is fully integrated with Mothercare International, local line of business systems and operations.
Chris Hodge, Mothercare group’s International eCommerce Programme Manager commented: “This is a true example of a real international project involving multiple third parties across four locations and three countries. The project has included implementing the eCommerce solution, setting up a new team in the Ukraine and all operational changes to support a new eChannel in the Ukraine for our brands.”
At the heart of Mothercare’s global eCommerce strategy lays the concept of making common functionality available via a core system for all its franchisees, in order to make international roll-outs easier. With the launch of the first online shopfor the Ukraine franchise, the programme is well underway and shows what is in store for the rest of the global network.
Crimsonwing was approached to design, build and implement a global solution for both the Mothercare and the Early Learning Centre brands via a multi-channel experience to 30+ markets and a potential for 60+ websites. In order to deliver this solution, understanding Mothercare’s business model was essential, as the franchisee approach has a number of implications.
By providing a core system to their vast network of franchisees, it is now much quicker to implement online shops globally, which can be customised to cater for local markets. The key challenge was to create a foundation that was robust enough to meet the requirements of most markets, without making it too generic. Flexibility for each geographic region needed to be considered,so the solution was built to be easily adaptable to local requirements.
Nicolai Dalli, Head ofeBusiness Solutions at Crimsonwing commented:“We have successfully achieved yet another milestone as part of Mothercare’s global rollout plan. The teams from Mothercare International, Mothercare Ukraine and our Crimsonwing Magento development team worked seamlessly together to provide an unrivalled solution. The flawless integration of the new online shop with the franchisee’s existing ERP system, together with the rest of the customised features will help the Mothercare Ukraine to make the most of eCommerce in their target market. We look forward to continuously supporting the franchisee, through managing the new Cloud environment.”
Following the example of the Ukraine, many more countries will be rolled out on this global eCommerce solution with Crimsonwing as the strategic implementation partner for Mothercare.
