Children’s Dreams, a unique online project to fulfil children’s dreams

Malta Independent Wednesday, 4 December 2013, 15:14 Last update: about 13 years ago

Children’s Dreams, a unique online project that aims to fulfil the dreams of children whose families are facing various problems, or are living in care, is has been launched for the first time in Malta on Tuesday the 3rd of December.

The project is being organised by Lina Pecorella, together with Agenzija Appogg following in the footsteps of a similar project in Lithuania, which has been running successfully for four consecutive years.

The website, www.childrendreams.org will publish these children’s’ dreams, which could be anything from a toy or game, to meeting their favourite singer, giving the generous Maltese public a chance to personally fulfil them over the Christmas period, thereby making every child’s dream come true.

The project model is run in a very simple way. The dreams are published on the website www.childrendreams.org and anyone can simply choose any dream they wish to fulfil. The details of sponsors will only be provided to the social worker who would then get in touch with him/her by email or telephone. Confidentiality will be respected to protect all persons concerned

The gift can be sent to the address of Agenzija Appogg provided by the social worker concerned, or it can be taken by the sponsor to the same address provided. The gift will be passed on to the carers of the child to be given at Christmas.

One thing to keep in mind is that these dreams don’t necessarily involve brand new items. That bicycle lying unused in your garage, could well be a dream come true for a child this Christmas. So please do check out the website and find out how you can light up a child’s life over this festive season.

For those of you who want to contribute by spreading the word please do! If you have your own site, blog or FB page, we have uploaded a variety of formats and banners for you to share. Our aim is to get the word out there and really fulfil every child’s dream. The project has its own FB page  https://www.facebook.com/childrendreams please like and share!

This project is an independent initiative. The website publishes dreams of children from 2 to 18 years old which can be fulfilled by the 1st January 2014.
