The magic of Facebook... When should you stop dreaming? Never, of course because dreams do come true!
Sixty-two-year-old Freddy Cuschieri has spent the last few days in a rehabilitation ward after undergoing a knee operation. Being always used to building a crib in December and to share the happiness of Christmas with others, Freddy was sad because this time he could not do this.
However, he wrote a message on Facebook asking whether someone could donate a crib to his ward so that he and his elderly friends could enjoy the birth of Jesus together.
Well, when I read his message, I contacted Manuel Vella, a crib maker of L-Arti Tal-Presepji and he immediately agreed to donate one of his marvellous cribs to this ward. The patients were overjoyed and they decorated their ward with the help of the staff of Karin Grech Ward 9 to create a beautiful ambience for this crib they desired so much.
Last Thursday, we were invited to take this crib to the ward in the company of Minister Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca as the elderly of this ward had requested her presence. It was such a joy to see these new friends so happy!
Finally, I got to know Freddy personally and the helpful and sweet Nursing Officer Johanna Pizzuto.
Who could have said that a short plea on Facebook would have ended this way?
Good job Freddy!
