Bank of Valletta is supporting Alex Dalli in showcasing his latest collection of works in an exhibition which is currently being held at The Malta Society of Arts, Manufacture and Commerce in Palazzo De La Salle, Valletta.
Alex Dalli has built a reputation throughout his various solos as well as participation in other numerous collective exhibitions. Amongst his mentors are none other than Harry Alden, the late George Fenech and Esprit Barthet.
Speaking during a presentation at Palazzo De La Salle, the artist explained his love for art and the artistic world in general. “I enjoy using geometrical shapes and balancing well the composition. I try to reinterpret my innermost feeling. To me, art is very special - it is the expression of the human creatve skill and imagination.”
Stephanie Agius from Media and Community Relations at BOV visited the exhibition space during the setting up of the works. “Browsing through Dalli’s exhibits, one is immediately hit by a sense of simplicity and tranquility. Bank of Valletta is aware of the challenges that artists face in giving visibility to their artistic works, and yet this is critical to their development. Thus, we take pride in supporting local artists as much as possible, and consider this effort an important aspect of our patronage of national arts and culture.”
This collection of paintings, which brings together 38 compositions by the artist Alex Dalli is hosted at The Malta Society of Arts, Manufacture and Commerce, Palazzo de la Salle in Republic Street, Valletta. It is open to the public between the 9th and the 30th of January 2014.
