Pianist Gabi Sultana’s name is certainly not a new one in the contemporary music scene. She returns to Malta to present a recital at the St. James Cavalier presenting winning programme with the support of Bank of Valletta.

The recipient of the first Giorgio Federico Ghedini Bursary in 2009, and a Malta Arts Scholarship in 2010, Gabi Sultana continued to build on her success taking home the Contemporary Music Prize at the 22nd Ibla Grand Prize International Music Competition 2013 – an international showcase for respected musical talent.

She will be presenting Frederic Rzewski's “Winnsboro Cotton Mill Blues”, a selection from George Crumb's “Makrokomos Vols. 1 & 2” and Iannis Xenakis' “Evryali”.

Hailed as “an outstanding pianist” and “a demon of energy”, this pianist’s contemporary music is captivating and enthralling to its audience. This promises to be an exciting experience to all those with a good ear for music.

Gabi’s piano recital will be held on the 21st January 2014 at The Music Room in St. James Cavalier, Valletta at 8pm. For more information, kindly visit www.gabisultana.com
