I would like to add and modify my ideas that appeared in the recent letter entitled “Their own children” which was on the same topic.
Nowadays, scientists are finding so many genes that are responsible for one or other characteristic.
If they have not yet specified the gene responsible for homosexuality and heterosexuality, a little funding in this direction would do the trick. There are agencies whose work is just to see ‘interpret’ gene expression.
Under such conditions I see nothing wrong with allowing adoption to be in the hands of an adoption board, if this board is made up of at least two genetic engineers and the board would allocate genetically homosexual babies to homosexual parents and heterosexual babies to heterosexual parents.
We have seen how many homosexuals suffered under a heterosexual upbringing and the same could be true for heterosexual children being brought up by homosexuals.
If everybody adopts according to their orientation there would be equality and no discrimination. From the babies’ genes it could be determined whether the baby is heterosexual or homosexual.
The board should also allow everybody to adopt where there is a biological link, as I said in my previous letter.
Bribery of board members would be highly improbable unless the members of the board would be so old and therefore dead, and so free from punishment, if an adopted child would want to test its orientation because it suspects foul play in its case.
Most probably, the gene of a paedophile could also be established and so paedophiles would not be allowed to adopt.
I wish that this law would be a successful one
