A 29-year old man from Valletta was given bail on a €500 deposit and €2,000 personal guarantee after he was accused of hitting his girlfriend causing her slight injuries. Inspector Luke Bonello said that this is not the first time Johann Grech and his girlfriend had rows and ended up fighting.

The incident allegedly happened last Saturday at around 11pm. Grech who pleaded not guilty was charged of causing fear out of his girlfriend, did not obey police orders, and acted out of his limits of provocation and also committed a crime while being on probation.

The Court also accepted the Prosecution’s plea for the accused not to speak or meet his former girlfriend.

Dr Gianluca Caruana Curran defended the accused.
