Island Caterers Limited has announced the recent appointment of Tonio Aquilina to the position of General Manager at Island Caterers Ltd

Tonio joined the Island Hotels Group family in 2008 as Food and Beverage manager at the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Golden Sands and was subsequently promoted to Hotel Operations Manager.

Tonio started his career in the industry after graduating in hotel and catering management from the Institute of Tourism Studies, Malta. He then moved to York, England, to gain experience in the field, carrying out general hotel management duties.

Upon his return to Malta, Tonio joined the Dolmen Hotel as Food & Beverage Manager and worked his way up to Business Development Manager. Amidst his experience in the industry, Tonio continued to further his career at Bellevue Palace, a leading hotel in Berne, Switzerland, The Imgarr Hotel, Grand Hotel Mercure San Antonio as well as Accor Hotel in Athens, Greece
