Good start in winter league for Neptunes

Neptunes Emirates began their 2014 Winter League commitments in dominating fashion when they crushed Exiles Ferretti to the tune of 18 goals to 4. Captain Niki Lanzon showed that he has lost none of his devastating scoring form notching up no less than six goals throughout the match which the Balluta side dominated from first to last.

The first session saw Neptunes’ assert their dominance, winning 31 with Zarb Cousin and Stellini scoring although Exiles could have got more goals had they not wasted some good man up opportunities.

Neptunes practically sewed up the game in the second session where they won 6-1 with Stellini and Niki Lanzon completing the rout. The Balluta side continued dominating the encounter in the third session winning it 4-1 with their captain Niki Lanzon again on the scoresheet. The final session also saw Neptunes dominate with Jordan Camilleri and Michele Stellini scoring regularly for a final score of 18-4 in their favour.

Marsascala MORE took some time to achieve victory against a resilient Marsaxlokk who offered consistently stiff resistance in all four sessions. In fact the first session ended 3-3 whilst the second saw Marsascala shade it 2-1 with Rizzo Naudi and Stephen Micallef instrumental for Marsascala whilst Marsaxlokk looked to Michele Mifsud, Gordon Zammit and Mark Fenech for their goals.

The third session saw Marsascala keep ahead increasing the deficit to two goals through Rizzo Naudi and Stephen Micallef and shading it 3-2. The final session was another tight affair ending 2-2 with Marsascala hanging on for a slender victory and the three points.
