More than 3,500 applications for the “Once-only grant for vehicles registered and licensed for personal use between the 1st May 2004 and the 31st December, 2008” have been validated so far, the Transport Ministry said in a statement.

Applications under this scheme may either be downloaded from Transport Malta’s website www.transport.gov.mt or collected from the offices of Transport Malta, Ministries and Local Councils in Malta and Gozo.

No additional documentation is required to be submitted if a person is submitting his or her own application.

Following feedback from the general public, the heirs of deceased persons who were eligible for this scheme may now also apply. In such cases, their heirs should, together with the application form, submit a joint declaration signed by a notary public.

Application forms must be duly filled in, signed and sent by post or submitted in person to Transport Malta, Sa Maison Road, Floriana or Gozo Licencing Office, Rabat, Gozo by not later than the 28th March, 2014.
