The Minister for Home Affairs and National Security has appointed a second ‘AFM Complaints Commission’ to investigate alleged discrimination within the AFM.   Brigardier (Ret’d) Maurice Calleja, Colonel (Ret’d) Raphael Farrugia and Roderick Cutajar, HR Management Consultant, will investigate alleged cases on an individual basis and make recommendations to the Minister.

The Commission will investigate:

a. Cases of alleged injustice not considered by first ‘AFM Complaints Commission’ because they were received after the closing date, 12 September 2013.

b. Cases of alleged injustices which date back seven years i.e. 3 March 2007.

c. Cases of alleged injustices dating back more than seven years where the consequences were felt since then.

d. Cases of alleged injustices forwarded to the Office of the Ombudsman or the Tribunal for the Investigation of Injustices having the recommendation of these two institutions but never implemented.

Serving Officers and Ranks of the Regular Force and ex-members of the Regular Force who retired from the Service who wish to present a case to the ‘AFM Complaints Commission’ are to do so in writing. A complaint made to the previous AFM Complaints Commission need not be submitted again.
