Sliema wrap it up in first session, win for Valletta

Sliema Frank Salt 14 Exiles Ferretti 5 (7-2), (1-2), (3-1), (3-0)

Sliema registered their second victory on the trot with a fine victory over their neighbours Exiles Ferretti beating them 14-5. Sliema came out like a house on fire winning the first session 7-2 with Meli, Attard, Gabaretta, Cluett and Brownrigg finding the net. Exiles replied through Portelli and Kurt Griscti.

The second session was a far more balanced affair with Exiles shading it 2-1. Rizzo Naudi and Griscti scored for Exiles while Sliema’s only goal came courtesy of Jur- gen Borg. Sliema came back strongly in the third session, winning 3-1 with Soler scoring his first goal from a penalty.

The final session also went Sliema’s way with Brownrigg, Meli and Soler again in evidence for a final score of 14- 5.

Valletta win tight contest

Valletta United 4 Sirens Ritter Sport 3 (1-1), (0-2), (2-0), (1-0)

A goal scored a minute from time by Ranier Scerri settled a tight encounter in favour of Valletta United against Sirens. The first session was a close affair ending 1-1 but Sirens took the upper hand in the second win- ning 2-0. The goals came courtesy of Mizzi, Pisani and Caruana for Sirens while a Spiteri Staines penalty was the only goal for Valletta. Valletta came back strongly in the third session and won 2-0 through Charles Zammit and Ranier Scerri thus setting up a tight final session.

Ranier Scerri scored the all important goal a minute from time to hand Valletta a crucial victory.
