Sirens Ritter Sport 9 Sliema Frank Salt Real Estate 14

(4-1), (3-2), (0-7), (2-4)

Sliema Frank Salt left it till the third session to register their second victory in the Premier League over a Sirens side who dominated the first two sessions.

Sirens started like a house on fire and shocked Sliema into submission by winning the first session 4-1 and the second 3-2. Zak Mizzi scored 3 whilst Pace, Cutajar, Caruana and Grech scored the other four. Sliema appeared pretty poor upfront and could only manage a brace by Meli and a goal by Gabaretta with the St Paul’s Bay side in complete control at that stage.

However Sliema came back strongly in the third session and wiped out the deficit scoring seven goals in a row with Gabaretta, Meli, Brownrigg and Aquilina finding the net. The fourth session also saw Sliema dominate where they won 4-2 and with Gabaretta and Aquilina scoring again although Sirens’ Zak Mizzi scored five to round off a respectable result.

Ta Xbiex Amigos 4 Marsascala MORE 9

(2-1), (1-1), (1-3), (0-4)

Marsascala left it for the final two sessions to wrap up their third victory in the First Division league against bottom club Ta’ Xbiex who on their part have only garnered one point from three games.

The first two sessions were balanced affairs with Ta’ Xbiex holding the upper hand since they won the first session 2-1 while the second ended 1-1. However the third session saw Marsascala effect a considerable turnaround coming from two goals behind to win 3-1 and start the final session with a slender one goal advantage themselves. Goals were evenly distributed with only Stephen Micallef scoring a brace while Camilleri, Aquilina, Attard and Zammit scored for Ta’ Xbiex.

Ta’ Xbiex faded badly in the final session with Marsascala easily securing victory when they scored four goals without reply largely through the efforts of Edward Meli and Julian Rizzo Naudi for a final 9-4 scoreline.
