‘Rewarding Excellence’ was the theme for Dhalia Real Estate’s 2013 Awards ceremony which saw almost 100 consultants and staff come together at the Xara Lodge this month.
“You made 2013 a good year,” Chris Grech, chairman and CEO of Dhalia began, “and this evening is for you, to reward those efforts. But we want to see 2014 to be even better, to see continued growth, and to take advantage of the new opportunities we are being given in our sector.”
Mr Grech was referring to new incentives, such as the Individual Investor Programme, that have seen increased interest in local property from international markets.
Following Mr Grech’s speech, the evening continued with a look at projects that are planned for in 2014. Dhalia’s training consultant David Dingli spoke aboutthe new training and tools that will be rolled out to ensure Dhalia’s service levels remain the best in the industry. The company has embraced technology, and will be deploying a variety of new software and hardware items to help consultants identify and source homes for buyers faster than ever.
Of course the highlight of the evening was the seven different awards given to consultants that excelled in that particular area.
Desmond Scerri won the best newcomer award, while Tony Scicluna received the prize for the best contributor to the inventory.
Given Malta’s rapidly growing property rental market it is no surprise that two awards covered this sector. Yvo Hesselman won the award for the most number of lets in 2013, while Etienne Licari was named the top letting consultant of 2013, having generated the most commissions.
Sandra Grech received awards for both the largest number of sales and the top sales consultant of 2013 – a huge achievement as these are both hotly contested awards, while Dhalia’s top manager in 2013 was Neville Sciberras who received the award to thunderous applause.
Mr Grech then closed the ceremony, thanking the staff for their hard work and congratulating them on their achievements, as well as placing strong emphasis on the teamwork and co-operation that exists within the company.
