Economy Minister Chris Cardona said Malta was obtaining results in direct foreign investment, with Malta Enterprise approving in one year as many projects as had been approved in seven.
He was speaking during a visit to Seifert at Hal Far industrial estate, accompanied by MEP election candidates Clint Camilleri and Miriam Dalli.
Dr Cardona said the economy had done well in 2013, with the gross domestic product expanding by 2.4 per cent, compared to the miserable rate of 0.6 per cent in 2012. More companies had been attracted in the ICT sector, but there had also been other projects, including in the aviation, pharmaceutial, medical services and manufacturing sectors.
