Notices by court marshals relating to civil cases will from June start being forwarded to the legal representatives of the parties to a case by email, Justice Minister Owen Bonnici told a news conference.
To date counsel to the parties have had physically to check if any notice has been issued. The system was leading to unnecessary delays in procedures, Dr Bonnici said, and he was sure it would lead to an improvement.
Dr Bonnici said that apart from legal amendments and legislative changes, the government has in the last year introduced a substantial number information technology changes which have cut down on bureaucracy in civil cases.
