As a preliminary gauge of sentiment we see that US equities slipped lower at Friday’s close despite the stronger than expected reading for US payrolls. The US created 273k jobs throughout the month of April, significantly higher from the 203k created in March and beating consensus estimates of 215k by a good margin as well. The rosier numbers were however overshadowed by the continued unrest seen in Ukraine.
