Vueling presented the summer season 2014 at Malta airport today, with a total of 82,260 seats on sale, which is an increase of 36% with respect to the same period in 2013. The Spanish airline, which began operations in July 2007 in Malta, is extending its presence in the country year after year.
One of the most significant novelties of this season will be the incorporation, on 24 June, of Rome-Fiumicino (Italy), which means a direct connection with the company's second hub with three weekly flights (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays) and a total of 13,320 seats available.
Another novelty is the start of the direct route to Seville (Spain) that will operate from 27 June to the end of August with two flights a week (Mondays and Fridays) and a total of 6,840 seats on sale. But besides that, Vueling will continue to provide its regular flights to the main Spanish cities of Madrid and Barcelona, the latter also with a daily connection for the month of August.

New Fiumicino hub
The company has established its second hub at Rome-Fiumicino following its successful Barcelona model. With 39 direct flights and ‘Vueling-a-Vueling’ connections, there will be up to 800 flight combinations making it possible to reach all international destinations from Rome. It will be possible to reach both national destinations inside Italy and international ones, amongst which it is worth noting: Belgium, Germany, Holland, Croatia, Spain, France, Greece, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, amongst others.
