326 Bank of Valletta staff where presented with certificates for successfully completing various in-house training courses.  The presentation ceremony was held at the Malta College of Arts Science and Technology (MCAST). Present for the ceremony were the Bank of Valletta Chairman, Mr John Cassar White, Chief Officers and other BOV Officials.  Dr Godfrey Baldacchino, Professor of Sociology, delivered the keynote speech for the occasion.

The courses, organised by the Bank of Valletta Training Academy, are all designed to meet the Bank’s business requirements and relate directly to the roles of employees across areas such as lending, investments, leadership and sales amongst others. The training programmes are structured in a manner that provide BOV Staff with a sound knowledge of core banking as well as the development of soft skills. In this way, the Training Academy contributes towards the individual’s career development prospects as well as the Bank’s performance as trained staff give a high quality service to the Bank’s customers

In his address, Bank of Valletta Chairman, John Cassar White congratulated the graduates for their outstanding efforts and dedication to developing their skills to better serve the interests of the Bank, its clients, and the community at large. He said: “Through these training programmes, we seek to improve the efficiency and capabilities of our employees in line with the Bank’s objectives, mission, and plans to develop the performance and professional expertise”. “Our strategic objective is to transform the organisation by developing our internal talent, and equipping staff with the very latest managerial and leadership skills and competencies. It is our dedication and our drive to invest in the progress of our own people, which continues to differentiate us from our competition,” he added.
