It is very worrying to hear about abuse and here I refer to all forms of abuse of vulnerable people, especially when they are in a place where the environment is supposed to be an environment of care and conducive to their recovery and reintegration back in the community.

Needless to say, this should not be happening and one should therefore question the reasons behind this ill-treatment. “Are professionals and other employees trained appropriately to work with these vulnerable persons?” “Are they given continuous training?”

Working with vulnerable people is not an easy job; therefore another question is, “Are these workers given the necessary support to help prevent burnout?”
