Malta International Airport celebrated the opening of the World Cup season with capoeira performers and Brazilian samba dancers in colourful traditional costumes, performing live in the check-in hall as travellers checked-in for their flights.
“The World Cup is a highly anticipated event, even for those who don’t consider themselves football crazy. We thought we could join in the fun and give those travellers a taste of the excitement,” said George Mallia, Head of Retail and Property at the Malta International Airport
For the entire month, additional screens will be set up and food outlets will extend their opening hours, inviting football fans and their friends to come and enjoy all World Cup matches at the airport. Those watching World Cup football at Malta International Airport will also benefit from one hour free parking, from selected outlets.
The Food Court at Level -1 of the Terminal, will be showing fifty four of the world cup matches. Meanwhile, Talbot & Bons, the cafe-wine lounge at SkyParks Business Centre, will have its terrace open for live viewing until the early morning hours ensuring that night owls have a place to go to enjoy the beautiful game. The full schedule of matches being shown is available on
