Those receiving the medal during the ceremony presided by the President of Malta were Dr Alfred Sant, Dr Lawrence Gonzi, Dr Louis Galea, Dr Tonio Borg, Mr John Dalli (in absentia), Dr.Michael Frendo, Mr Ninu Zammit, Dr Louis Deguara and Mr Noel Farrugia.
