Fenech & Fenech Advocates is pleased to announce that Dr Josianne Brimmer has, as from 26 May 2014, joined the firm as new Partner.

Josianne Brimmer graduated as a Doctor of Laws (LLD) from the University of Malta in 2001 and was admitted to the Bar in Malta in January 2002. She completed her Masters Degree (M. Jur.) in European and Comparative Law from the University of Malta in 2002, and in 2005 completed her Masters Degree (MA) in Financial Services also from the University of Malta, graduating summa cum laude.

Josianne started her career with Fenech & Fenech Advocates in 2001, working principally in the International Practice and Financial Services Department of the Firm and being involved in a number of privatisation and restructuring deals, advising overseas financial services institutions on the local regulatory framework, as well as being on the legal advisory team of the Firm for Air Malta plc.

In 2007 Josianne moved on to an in-house counsel role with Tell Investments, a hedge fund manager led by Patrick Schegg and Jeremy Attard-Manché, with offices in Malta, London and Switzerland and up to USD 1 billion in assets under management.  She acted as Head of Legal and Compliance across the three offices, joining the Executive Committee of the firm in 2010. 

She was subsequently Director of Tell Capital Ltd., an investment management licencee, and also held the role of Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer for the Malta licenced entities.

When Tell wound-up its operations in 2012,Josianne joined Z Investment Partners Malta Limited as Head of Legal and Compliance, where she acted as Director, Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer on both the Malta management entities as well as the fund entities and their SPVs. 

She continued with Z Investments until May 2014, joining Fenech & Fenech Advocates as a Partner within the Financial Services practice on the 26 May 2014.
