Otters edge Marsaxlokk in high score game; Sirens in command throughout

The Gozitans managed to leave M’xlokk pointless as the latter side have ended their group commitments.

Otters will take the points from this victory with them in the next phase of play in the 1st Division.

M’xlokk came back to draw level in the last quarter but Otters forged back in front and remained there till the end.

M’xlokk were ahead in the opening session but Otters then tied the score and scored three times more in the next session to lead 6-3 at the interval.

After the break a classic Anthony Galea push shot started M’xlokk as they tried to reduce the arrears but Otters held out with Ivan Vuksanovic strikes to stay 18 in front. Otto Frick netted three times in succession to take M’xlokk to a drawn score but Otters didn’t take long to regain their advantage and they held on despite another last second goal from Frick.

The Gozitans, who netted twice from three man ups, had Vuksanovic and Andrei Edward with a poker of goals and veteran John Paris grabbed a hat trick.

M’xlokk’s Frick collected a total of seven goals and Bence Fulope netted three more.

Sirens tamed Exiles to go alongside San Giljan in the standings when they will meet them next week.

After suffering three opening session goals, Exiles were always chasing their opponents even though they managed to go within a single strike in the second session only to fall behind once more till the interval as Sirens led 5-2.

In the second part of the match Sirens withstood Peter Borg goals for Exiles before replying four times without reply to start the last session 11-4 ahead.

Sirens were always in command with Gergely Katonas strikes making the final score a more respectable one for Exiles who will find it tough going in the Premier Division in the next phase of play.

Sirens netted four times from nine man ups whilst Exiles still find it difficult to score on extra player occasions. This time it was twice from eight times.

Csaba Kiss scored four goals and Zak Mixxi netted three for Sirens. Exiles had Katonas and Peter Borg each with hat tricks.
