Carmelo Caruana Company supports Alive2014 Cycling Challenge for Cancer

Carmelo Caruana Company Ltd has matched donations made by its staff to pledge its support to the Alive Charity Foundation’s 2014 Cycling Challenge for Cancer from Prague to Belgrade in July.

Carmelo Caruana Company’s agency manager Darin Zahra will be among 45 cyclists participating in the Alive2014 Cycling Challenge for Cancer across five countries between July 9 and 18.

The cyclists will cover a daily average distance of 145 kilometres for seven days, making their way from Prague to Vienna, then on to Bratislava to reach Budapest towards Belgrade, their final destination.

Supported by Carmelo Caruana Company, Darin is following an intensive training programme in preparation for the gruelling challenge in a few weeks’ time.

Alive Charity Foundation is a registered charity with a mission to raise funds for medical research in Malta.

In 2013, its first year, it succeeded to collect around €50,000 for Breast Cancer Research and Breast Cancer Awareness.

Funded by volunteer donations, Alive Charity Foundation aims to raise the status of health awareness and scientific research to invest in long---term gains. It also holds activities aimed at increasing awareness of health---related issues.
