Website promoting sustainable electric transportation launched

Malta Independent Wednesday, 9 July 2014, 12:32 Last update: about 13 years ago

The MNEP (Malta National Electromobility Platform) – a joint project between the Ministry for Transport and Infrastructure and Transport Malta to promote electromobility and implement Government policy on electromobility and innovative, cleaner mobile and transport solutions – is launching the platform’s website to continue with its remit of promoting Sustainable Electric Transportation. This site is a showcase of what is happening locally in the promotion of this clean, environmentally friendly mode of transportation – including Electric and Hydrogen propelled Vehicles.

The web portal also includes a News Section which is updated regularly on developments taking place both locally and abroad, information on current projects that Transport Malta and the Ministry is currently involved in as well as future projects.

The site itself is built on the concept of a one-stop-shop in the sense that it contains all the information necessary on the subject, including links to informative material prepared by specialized journalists, links to material available from foreign sources, as well as a comprehensive library of ‘formal’ documentation and nonetheless, an opportunity for the general public to request further information. The site may be viewed through www.electromobility.gov.mt .

There are already plans for future enhancements to the information contained and services to be launched soon intended for the much younger generations – the mature citizens of tomorrow. The general public is invited to have a look and browse through the site and any comments, queries and suggestions are welcome through the appropriate page within the same site.
