Sliema are fast becoming an unpredictable team. Just a few days before they swept Exiles aside in a K.O. match. The two sides meet again, in a league game, and it is Sliema who had to pull something out of the encounter, with two late goals. Full marks to a fighting exiles outfit, who  recovered Julian Rizzo Naudi, from the match before, but James Spiteri Staines was still missing, with Diego Borg back in the side.

Sliema went twice in front, at the start, with Exiles overturning the score, and Sliema had to draw level till the end of the session. In teh next period of play Exiles forged into a double advantage, with Sliema pulling themselves back. Exiles were once more ahead, and Sliema once more went on an even score, at 6-6, at the interval.

After the break Sliema had to reply to another Exiles lead, before Sliema’s Ivan Basara was ejected from the game. Sliema still managed to go two goals in front, with Exiles reducing their deficit, to 8-9, before the end of the session. Sliema were in disarray in the last quarter, as exiles pumped in three strikes in succession. Sliema just managed to save their blushes, with two late Antonio Petkovic goals. Both sides still an occasion each to grab all three points, which they both failed to do.

Petkovic netted a het trick for Sliema, whilst four players, David Pace Lupi, Gergely Katonas, Luka Sekulic and Peter Borg, all scored a brace of goals for Exiles.
