GUG was invited and attended the launch of Caremark in Gozo, hosted by the ministry for Gozo. Caremark is a leading company in care in the UK, offering a wide variety of specialized care for those in need in the comfort of their own home. Through a comprehensive training program Caremark recruits fully qualified carers who visit people who require their assistance in their own home. People who may make use of this company’s services include but are not limited to people with physical or learning disabilities, or else people who’ve just underwent a surgical operation and require assistance in their daily routine. These include people of all age groups.

GUG strongly supports such an investment for various reasons. This investment will improve the training and job opportunities in Gozo for those interested in the healthcare sector. Moreover domiciliary care, which is care given in the client’s home environment, allows people to go onliving in their community, which helps maintain their social circle, daily routine and their quality of life. Caremark can also offer respite to the personal carers of people in need of assistance.
