It is said that when one finds oneself in a hole, one should stop digging. The Leader of the Opposition insists in doing the opposite. On taking over the leadership of the PN and opposition leader, Dr Simon Busuttil knew he and his party were in a very deep hole, both politically and financially.

Instead of trying to see how to slowly climb out from that hole, Dr Busuttil continued digging! His latest declaration, attacking the government’s decision to have the money which used to go in the students’ smartcard to be sent directly to the students` personal bank account, proves, yet again, that Dr Busuttil is intent on reaching lower depths in the hole he and his party are in.

Dr Busuttil`s fixation to criticize whatever is said and done by our prime minister and his government, irrespective of whether what is being done is welcomed or not – in this case the government`s decision was welcomed by the students – proves that the Opposition leader is completely out of touch even with students, who in the past used to be considered as stalwart supporters of the PN!

Had Dr Busuttil been leading the Boy Scout Movement, he would have already been shown the door!
