Last seasonal game for both sides

Both sides ended their commitments for this season, with Sirens obtaining their third victory in four matches over the Citizens. The only disappointment for Sirens this season was the fact that they failed to make the Championship Pool, after their solid performances, which had them beating more quoted sides. Valletta retained retained their top division status, as they were expected, and now they will look to reinforce their side for the coming season. This game was the swansong for Matthew Pisani, of Sirens. he was made captain of the side for the day, as he hung up his swimming trunks, after a long career, taking him around four clubs.

Sirens had a solid start, with four goals without any any reaction from Valletta, as the St. Pauls Bay side established a good advantage. Valletta gradually came more into the match, as they managed to gnaw away at their deficit. They were still still 3-6 benind at the interval, but after the break they reduced theri deficit further, as they went into the last quarter two goals in arrears. The opening part of the last session belonged to Sirens once more, as they drove home another four strikes, to put the result beyond any doubt. Valletta's Milos Korolija was shown a red card, and later on there were two more expulsions, Luke Caruana for Sirens and Michael Spiteri Staines for Valletta. The Citizens put in a final spurt, which had them scoring twice in less than a  minute, in teh fian l stages of the amcth, to make up a more respectable score.

Christian Presciutti had another good showing, with a nap hand of goals, including a gem, with a reverse delightful flick, and Csaba Kiss contributed with a poker of goals, for Sirens. Valletta had two players with a brace each, Ryan Mock and Milos Korolija, before he was expelled.

M'xlokk now await the last game, today

M'xlokk's late challenge for the league title had them beating Ta Xbiex, for the fourth consecutive time, as they leapfrogged over M'scala, in top position, but the latter side have still to meet Otters today, and a win will give the title to M'scala. M'sxlokk were given a hectic time by ta Xbiex till the interval, but them M'xlokk broke forward after the break. to establish an advantage, which they held till the final buzzer. Ta Xbiex had Liam Pace in goal, in lieu of the missing Luke Borg. Ta Xbiex were defitiinely palying their last match of the season, whilst M'xlokks fate  will be known today.

M'xlokk, who had Sean Xerri de Caro in blistering form, opened the scoring, but Ta Xbiex were level. In the second period M'xlokk regained their advantage three times more, but every time Ta Xbiex managed a reaction, as they  were still locked with their adversaries at the intreval, on a 4-4 score.

After the break M'xlokk made a winning breakthrough, with four goals in seuccession, with Ta Xbiex  making a late reply. Going into the last session M'xlokk were leading 8-5, and they improved on this advantage with three more goals, as Ta Xbiex could only react once, falling behind by five goals. M'xlokk relaxed, and Ta Xbiex took the opportunity to net three more goals, and made the final score a closer one, although M'xlokk were never in trouble of failing to take the three points.

Xerri de Caro netted five times for M'xlokk, and Ta Xbiex had two players with hat tricks, Milos Maksimovic and Peter Markoch.
