Bank of Valletta appoints new Chief Technology Officer

Bank of Valletta announced that it has appointed Joseph Agius as Chief Technology Officer

Joseph Agius joined the Bank in October 1985, and was currently occupying the role of Executive Head responsible for Information Technology. Throughout his career at Bank of Valletta, he has held a number of senior key executive positions within the IT Division and was also actively involved in the implementation of a number of key projects. Joseph Agius holds a B.Sc (Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Reading as well as an MBA in eBusiness from the Grenoble Graduate School of Business. This appointment is subject to regulatory approval. 

Joseph Agius succeeds Victor Denaro, who will be taking up early retirement after a career spanning 21 years with Bank of Valletta. He had occupied the post of Chief Officer Information Technology since 2005.  Mr Denaro will continue to act as a consultant to the Bank in relation to a number of IT projects.

Charles Borg, CEO of Bank of Valletta congratulated Joseph Agius on his appointment and also thanked Victor Denaro for his dedication throughout his career at the Bank.
