The ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Certification awarded to the company is recognition of the company's strategic commitment to maintain a visible and documented security environment across its operations,maintaining the confidence and trust of the public in its games and services.
This certification is internationally recognised and verifies that Maltco Lotteries operates an Information Security Management System according to the highest international standards, both in the way the company is run as well as in its entire operations.
In the Gaming Industry this kind of recognition plays a critical role because it ensures that all the procedures, policies and controls established by the accredited company fulfil the highest international standards. In addition to this, this recognition serves as an assurance for the players, the public and society that they can trust the games and services offered by the company since they are secure and of good and high quality.
Dr Ioannis Katakis, Maltco Lotteries' C.E.O, explained that in order for the company to achieve this certification, auditors from TÜV NORD visited the company in Malta and carried out a detailed audit of all the company's functions, assessing the level of management, organisation and operation of the company and its lottery/betting systems that support the games and services offered by the company.
Dr Katakis added that the auditors inspected all company's departments and analysed the way each department functions, including the departments of Legal and Compliance, Information Systems, Operations, Sales and Marketing, Corporate Communications and Finance. The auditors interviewed the appropriate personnel from each department to obtain the information they needed.
He continued that a very important recognition of this ISO certification is related to the Live Draw Studios of the company that were inspected by the auditors and of all the draw management procedures followed by the company for all the draws of the games offered by Maltco Lotteries. All this ensures the integrity of the draws and that games offered to players are safe and trustworthy.
