Prime Minister Joseph Muscat fails on his greatest election promise - Nationalist Party

Sunday, 12 October 2014, 17:57 Last update: about 11 years ago

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has confirmed that he will not stick to the greatest electoral promise that he made before the March 2013 election - that of building a power station to reduce the electricity tariffs, the Nationalist Party said in a statement.

This means that Dr Muscat does not keep his promises. What happened today tarnishes the PM's credibility because Muscat admitted he will fail in his greatest promise.

The new power station is a project of Muscat from beginning to end, and he cannot blame anyone else. He has taken the people for a ride, the PN said.

For the last 18 months, Muscat has been telling the people that the project is on track. But now it transpires that this is not so.

The Maltese people deserve clear answers that that political promises are fulfilled. The people have the right to know what will happen to the project, the PN said.

The footage with story is a clip of what PN leader Simon Busuttil has to say on the situation.
