CHULA VISTA, California - For a company booking $12 million in annual sales importing snacks from Mexico, Baja Distributors Inc. was oddly quiet. There were no signs outside; its warehouse was almost empty. Prosecutors say there was a reason for the anonymity: The business was laundering money from Mexican drug traffickers.
