Discussions involving Enemalta, Electrogas and Shanghai Electric Power continued this morning at Delimara, the site where the gas-fired power station is to be built, the government said this evening.

Energy Minister Konrad Mizzi attended the meeting, during which the various aspects that need to be coordinated among the three entities were discussed.

The representatives of the three entities observed the preliminary work that was taking place as well as the BWSC plant.

Dr Mizzi later accompanied the Shanghai representatives on a visit to the Marsa power station.

The government's plan to complete the new power station within 24 months of taking office will not materialise and the project has been put back by a few months.

At the end of the visit, a visit was released with Dr Mizzi giving a statement without any journalists present, similar to what happens in China.
