The Youth Section of Our Lady of the Lily Musical Society of Mqabba will kick start its drama season with a large scale representation of a brilliant Maltese comedy. Karmena Abdilla wara t-Tieġ will be brought back to life on stage on Saturday 1 November at the Mqabba Primary School Hall in Valletta Road at 7.30pm. The Character of Karmena Abdilla certainly brings a great deal of nostalgia to most Maltese. It was a very popular character in times gone by. This comedy, a sequel to It-Tieġ ta' Karmena Abdilla by the late Charles Clews, continues to explore Karmena Abdilla and her husband Pacifku's outstanding personalities.Produced by Our Lady of the Lily Youth Section, the plot revolves around the events that came about following the return home of Karmena and Cirillu after their wedding. Both of them are now happy that finally their dream came true and they are longing for some well deserved time to rest. All of a sudden, they begin to face the family members that for sure will create several difficult situations for the couple. Karmena's son Ninu, loves his mother to an extent that he wouldn't leave her one single minute alone, even after her wedding. Her brother Gori, who is much into drinking, made his utmost during the wedding reception in order to satisfy his alcoholic needs. Attempts by Fredu, her other brother, to keep Gori from ruining the wedding proved unsuccessful. As if this was not enough, one has to add Perpetwa, Karmena's sister in law who is not in very good terms with her. Karmena needs a great deal of patience in order to be able to face all these situations, and of course her husband needs more to handle all these people and his wife who tries to do things but always fails. What will happen after their first night as newlyweds? Will they succeed to have some time for them without people ruining their plans? The main parts are in the hands of Anthea Sacco and Fernando Dingli who will play the role of Karmena Abdilla and her husband Paċifiku.
