As part of the seventh anniversary celebrations, La Mѐre Restaurant is pleased to announce their All New Lunch and Dinner menu - a diverse à la carte menu, featuring some old favourites and a range of exciting new dishes.
"La Mѐre Restaurant is pleased to present to our customers a menu that will be able to pleasantly surprise them and take them through a journey of three great cuisines - Indian, Arabic and Mediterranean," said Clinton Cachia, chef patron for La Mѐre Restaurant.
Nearly at the bottom of Merchant's Street, past the old Valletta market, the irresistible array of newly launched dishes at La Mѐre Restaurant give guests a wide variety of dishes to choose from. The dishes are rich and flavoured and you can turn up the heat to suit your taste.
The menu offers a varied selection of starters, platters, sizzlers, Indian curries and Middle Eastern as well as Mediterranean dishes with also a good choice of vegetarian options. Highlights include the starter Sabbidij Makli, which is a very lightly battered calamari with garlic, za'tar and ground almonds and the Sujuk which is a grilled spicy lamb sausage with garlic, tomatoes and green chillies. Mains give you a choice of Indian curries as well as the cornerstone of the menu - The Traditional Indian Thali, a selection of sizzlers which are cooked in the tandoori clay oven over the charcoal flames. A Mediterranean style pork fillet with bacon, aubergines, mustard and port wine or an Arabian dish, such as the chicken tagine with preserved lemons, served with fattoush salad and home-made bread can also be found on the menu. Sweets lovers will also not want to miss the selection of homemade desserts such as the Pista Kulfi, a sweet Indian ice-cream with cardamom, saffron and pistachios.
La Mѐre Restaurant also offers a limited but varied choice of wines all at retail prices. A €4.50 corkage fee is added for each bottle of wine served. However, you can also Bring Your Own (BYO) bottle of wine and just pay for the corkage fee.
The culinary team behind La Mѐre consists of chef patron Clinton Cachia, two Indian chefs, Saravanan and Yesuraj, who specialise in curries and tandoori respectively and Antonella Cachia who manages the dining area and ensures that the service matches the patron's expectations.
