Two former Hamrun Spartans players, Roderick Fenech and Massimo Grima, today were banned for life for match-fixing by the Malta Football Association.
The case in question goes back to the last season when the two defenders were charged with manipulating matches in the football Premier League.
Two former committee members of Hamrun Spartans, Elton Borg and Julian Friggieri, were charged with the same offences.
Borg and Friggieri were later banned for life after admitting the charges and the same punishment has now been imposed on Fenech, who was the captain of Hamrun Spartans at the time, and Grima, a former Malta international.
