In an interview with The Malta Independent, newly appointed Police Commissioner Michael Cassar wastes no time in saying that his priorities are to bring discipline and respect back to the Police Corps, both of which have been eroded over the years.

Mr Cassar said that his motto in leading the Corps will be that of “honesty”. He believes that way of doing things needs to filter down to all ranks so as to restore the trust that people have in the Police Corps, which is there to safeguard the public.
