A bomb threat - which later turned out to be a hoax - disrupted the last hours of shopping on Sunday evening at the Plaza Shopping complex in Sliema.
The police said a call with the threat was received at 6.34pm, with the person making the call saying that a bomb had been placed at MacDonalds in Sliema
Since there are two MacDonaldos outlets in Sliema, one at the Plaza complex and the other at Tigne, both the complex as well as the establishment were evacuated.
Police were on site together with members of the Bomb Disposal Unit and Civil Protection Department. Searches did not yield anything.
