The greatest mystery of 2014

Sunday, 4 January 2015, 10:18 Last update: about 13 years ago

The disappearance of Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 which left Kuala Lumpur to China on 8 March 2014, so far has not been found. This tragedy remains the greatest mystery of 2014. What did really happen? If it did went down somewhere over the Indian Ocean, as the experts have concluded, where is the wreckage? Is it still at the bottom of the ocean?

Aviation experts found that the plane went off course. Why? Was it the pilot's error? Was it hijacked by some terrorist jerk? But why did the radio transmitter in the cockpit stop? Mechanical failure was considered as another strong possibility... but was it really a mechanical failure? There were no distress signals from the pilot and all communications were abruptly interrupted and cut off completely!

If rumours which circulated in the international media some time after the incident were true, that the captain wanted to commit suicide, why did he choose to end the lives of so many innocent passengers with him? But there again... not a shred of wreckage was found!

Aviation experts were intrigued about this disappearance and they are still baffled. In the beginning, reports from the Malaysian authorities were very confusing and even conflicting to the annoyance of many relatives. Nine months after this tragic event, so many questions have so far remained unanswered...

Until a solid piece of evidence is found to confirm that the plane really went down, this unfortunate baffling drama is to remain the greatest mystery of 2014 for years to come!
