Conference and concert by tenor Fra Alessandro Brustenghi of Assisi

A highlight of the upcoming Rabat AGAPE festival will be a conference by renowned Italian tenor, Fra Alessandro Brustenghi on Thursday 5 February.

Starting at 7pm at St Paul's Parish Collegiate church in Rabat, titled My Song is my Prayer, is going to focus on how choral singing has helped this friar's spiritual journey.

At the end of the conference, Parliamentary Secretary for EU funds and the 2017 EU Presidency Ian Borg will open an art exhibition of works by Guzeppi Galea at the Wignacourt Museum in Rabat.  

Born in Rabat, Galea started work with his father and attended lessons at the School of Art.  Galea is famous for the many decorations he made for many churches and buildings in Malta and Gozo and his works can be found also in Toronto, Canada.  

The exhibition will be open at the Wignacourt Museum until the 25 February.

The Agape festival draws to a close on Monday 9 February with the annual concert of sacred music at St Paul's parish church in Rabat.  

This year's concert will be featuring the Paulus orchestra and choir, Italian tenor Brustenghi and the Gaulitanus choir under the direction of Mro Colin Attard.  General musical coordination of this concert is in the hands of Mro Paul Portelli.
