Parliamentary Secretary Ian Borg this morning attended a conference with a number of permanent secretaries of public entities to discuss simplification measures as regard to EU funds.

The conference was the seventh one of its kind, organized by the Commissioner for Simplification and Reduction of Bureaucracy Anthony Agius Decelis. The Parliamentary secretary stressed that the government is committed to reducing bureaucratic measures by 25%.  He explained that two division of EU funding, namely PPCD and FPD have already started implementing such measures, while at the same time improving their electronic systems.  The government will be ensuring that certain applications will start being filled up online, and that eligibility criteria will be clarified.

On Friday, two operative programmes for EU Funding for the period 2014-2020 will be presented.
